Lycksele's maternity ward (BB) is closing two weeks earlier than planned, forcing expectant mothers like Michelle Jonsson from Vilhelmina to travel 24 miles to Umeå for delivery.

Due to illness in the transport team and ongoing healthcare conflicts, the closure poses significant challenges for several families.

"It's scary, especially thinking about giving birth in a car," said Michelle, who fears complications during the journey.

The closure impacts four families directly, sparking criticism about unequal healthcare access between inland and coastal residents.
