Lund's Valborg Cleanup: A Million-Kronor Effort

Published: 2024-05-02

Lund’s Valborg celebration in the city park came to a grand close, leaving behind a significant cleanup task costing around 1.2 million kronor.

The event, which drew in between 25,000 to 30,000 people, is known for its vibrant atmosphere with students and visitors from across the globe participating in a day filled with picnics, music, and communal festivities.

Despite the large crowds, the presence of a heightened police force ensured an exceptionally peaceful celebration.

Officials and volunteers emphasized the importance of hydration, distributing water to attendees, echoing the 'every other water' principle to encourage responsible drinking.

The cleanup operation, although a heavy lift for the community, is seen as a worthwhile effort to preserve the joy and unity that the Valborg celebration brings to Lund.
