59 members of Sweden's Left Party have publicly voiced their concern over what they describe as the party leadership's drastic shift to the right.

In a collective statement released ahead of the party's congress in Jönköping, they warn that the party's identity as a socialist entity is at risk.

This sentiment was echoed in a report by Ekot, which highlighted an internal outcry against the leadership's recent policy directions, particularly in climate and defense matters.

The congress is being termed an 'ödeskongress', or a congress of destiny, with a clear call to action for delegates to uphold the party's socialist values.
