Left Gains in Finland's EU Elections

Published: 2024-06-10

In the recent EU elections, Finland's Left Alliance has made significant gains, securing around 17% of the vote.

This marks an increase of over 10 percentage points, positioning the party as the second largest in the race.

The National Coalition Party is anticipated to take the lead with approximately 24%.

Meanwhile, the far-right Finns Party has seen a decline, dropping to 7.6% after losing over 6 percentage points.

This contrasts with trends in other EU countries where far-right parties are gaining ground.
