In his annual Christmas speech, King Carl Gustaf of Sweden addressed several serious topics including the Nato process, a terrorist attack on Swedish football fans in Brussels, and escalating gang violence.
He also spoke about the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas on the Gaza Strip, which he said is causing 'great human suffering' and discord worldwide.
A peaceful resolution seems distant, but hope must prevail, he stated.
The King also mentioned the historic visit to Sweden by Volodymyr Zelenskyj and his wife Olena Zelenska, and the country's move towards joining NATO.
He ended his speech by wishing the Swedish people a peaceful Christmas and encouraging them to take extra time to care for the elderly and those most in need.
