Jonas Falk Arrested in Spain for Extortion

Published: 2024-08-13

Jonas Falk, a Swedish national, has been apprehended by Spanish authorities following a secretive legal maneuver in Sweden.

On Tuesday, the Södertörn District Court issued a detention order for Falk in absentia, suspecting him of orchestrating an extortion scheme against former CEO Joachim Kuylenstierna.

The operation was shrouded in secrecy to prevent Falk from evading capture, with Spanish police arresting him shortly after the court's decision.

Prosecutor Anna Stråth coordinated with Spanish officials to ensure a swift arrest, issuing a European arrest warrant immediately after the court's ruling.

Falk is accused of attempting to extort 100 million kronor from Kuylenstierna and is also implicated in a related arson attack.

The case is part of a broader investigation involving multiple suspects, with Falk previously known for his involvement in a major drug trafficking case in Sweden.
