In Jämtland, a region of Sweden, the gender pay gap stands at 9.5%, with men earning on average 9.5% more than women, according to statistics from the Swedish Central Bureau of Statistics (SCB).
This discrepancy translates to women effectively working without pay from 4:14 PM, while their male counterparts continue to earn until 5:00 PM.
The gap is slightly below the national average of 9.9%.
The year 2022 marked the first time in 15 years that the gender pay gap in Sweden widened, and there has been no significant change since.
The data was compiled by SCB for the 'Pay Throughout the Day' initiative, spearheaded by Sweden's women's organizations.
