Two separate traffic accidents on Uddevallabron have led to a complete closure of the bridge on New Year's Day.

The incidents, involving a total of eight vehicles, occurred in both directions.

In the northbound lane, five cars collided, while in the southbound lane, a caravan and three cars were involved.

Police report that two people sustained minor injuries.

Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and ambulances, are on-site.

Authorities attribute the accidents to extremely icy road conditions, and salt trucks are en route to address the hazard.
