The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning for sudden black ice in northeastern Götaland and southeastern Svealand.
Subzero temperatures can lead to ice on the roads, with the warning expected to last until Friday noon.
The zero boundary is right in the middle of northern Götaland and southern Svealand, creating perfect conditions for black ice.
Drivers are urged to be cautious amid the New Year's traffic, especially in the southern regions where people are not as used to slipperiness.
The situation is expected to persist over the weekend, with the roads freezing over again as temperatures drop.
