Hungary's government, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, is advocating for Sweden's membership in NATO.

Orbán will push the Hungarian National Assembly to vote in favor of Sweden's application.

In a phone call with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Orbán expressed his government's support for Sweden's NATO application.

Hungary and Turkey are the only countries yet to approve Sweden's NATO application.

The Turkish parliament voted in favor of Sweden's membership, leaving only President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's signature for approval.
