The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning for heavy snowfall expected around the Vättern area and extending to the northwest of Kalmar County during the night leading into Thursday.
Up to a decimeter of snow is anticipated in some areas, with accumulations likely between five to ten centimeters.
The warning, signaling potential disruptions in road, rail, and air travel due to poor visibility, slippery roads, and snowdrifts, is in effect until 8 AM Thursday.
However, the inclement weather is not expected to last, with forecasts predicting lighter snow showers and a quick disappearance of the snow in southern Sweden over the following days.
