The Vårdförbundet union has called off a planned strike in Västmanland after the region claimed the strike would put society at risk and warned of canceled holidays.
Union chair Ingrid Edman criticized the region for overusing the societal risk argument, noting it had been invoked too frequently.
The strike, slated to begin on June 11, aimed to secure shorter working hours for healthcare workers.
The region argued that the absence of 60-70 workers would severely impact patient care.
Following the call-off, many union members expressed frustration over the region's inconsistent stance on what constitutes a societal risk.
