In a display of cultural recognition and inclusion, Hallsberg Municipality raised the Roma flag to mark the Roma National Day.

Maria Costyson, the project manager for Roma inclusion in Hallsberg, highlighted the municipality's commitment to ensuring that people identifying as Roma feel secure within Swedish society.

To foster Roma inclusion, Hallsberg has received government funding for 2023-2025, facilitating bi-weekly meetings for discussions among the Roma community, which numbers between 300-400 in the area.

Additionally, the municipality plans to educate all municipal employees about Roma culture through lecture days, aiming to enhance understanding and respectful interaction.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to support individual needs, including job search assistance and help with official correspondence.
