A former Swedish Hockey League (SHL) player has been charged with rape, following allegations of assaulting a woman after a night out.
The incident reportedly occurred earlier this year at the player's residence, where the woman was allegedly in a vulnerable state due to intoxication and fatigue.
The accused, who has played for several elite Swedish hockey clubs, denies the charges.
In a separate case, another former national team player, previously convicted of similar offenses, faces new charges of rape and sexual misconduct.
This player, who had his sentence reduced earlier this year, also denies the latest allegations, calling them false.
Both cases highlight ongoing issues of sexual misconduct within the sports community, drawing significant public and media attention.
