A fire broke out at the Boken care home in Mjölby on Monday afternoon, leading to multiple injuries.
The alarm was raised at 14:11, prompting emergency services from Linköping, Mjölby, and Boxholm to respond quickly.
According to police, several residents were evacuated, and a total of 21 people were affected by smoke inhalation.
Three individuals sustained serious injuries, with two of them, a 60-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, requiring hospitalization.
The fire reportedly started in one apartment and spread through the corridor of the three-story building.
By 17:30, the fire service announced that they had concluded their operations at the scene, although one vehicle remained for oversight.
