A powerful explosion occurred on Lidingö, east of Stockholm, in the early hours of Tuesday, causing injuries to two individuals.

The blast, which happened near the entrance of a multi-family residence in the Larsberg area, was heard across large parts of Lidingö.

Both the National Bomb Squad and police forces are on site, with the area cordoned off for investigation and security measures.

A preliminary investigation into public endangerment has been initiated, with no arrests made yet.

This incident follows a similar explosion in Farsta, south of Stockholm, which injured five people the previous evening.
