A powerful explosion rocked an eight-story residential building in Sundbyberg, north of Stockholm, in the early hours between Thursday and Friday, causing significant damage to the property.

The blast left the elevator inoperative, destroyed the entrance, and blew out windows.

With 36 apartments affected, the extent of the individual damages remains uncertain.

Elin Poska, the spokesperson for the property's landlord, F\u00f6rvaltaren, indicated that the renovation process would be extensive and time-consuming.

"This is nothing that can be resolved in a few weeks," Poska stated.
