In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, Europol has successfully dismantled a notorious encrypted communication platform known as "Ghost.
" This platform, which gained popularity among criminals after the takedown of Encrochat, was used for planning illicit activities such as drug trafficking and murder.
The operation, dubbed "Kraken," involved international cooperation from countries including Sweden, Australia, Canada, France, and the United States.
So far, 51 individuals have been arrested globally, with the majority in Australia.
Although Swedish authorities have not made any arrests due to legal constraints, they have been actively involved in the operation.
The platform's founder, an Australian man, has also been apprehended.
This operation underscores the importance of international collaboration in tackling cross-border criminal activities.
