In what has been described as the most significant environmental crime case in Sweden, charges have been filed against eleven individuals, including Bella Nilsson, the CEO of waste management company Think Pink.
The company is suspected of illegally dumping waste across 21 locations in the country.
Despite the severity of the charges, which include the discovery of high concentrations of environmental toxins at several sites, all accused have denied their guilt.
The court case, expected to be lengthy with 150 witnesses to be heard, is not likely to start before fall 2024.
