In Sala, the annual Valborg celebration, known for its spontaneous car cruising event, will see an innovative approach to maintaining public order this year.
The local police, led by community officer David Birgerstad, will deploy drones equipped with cameras to monitor the festivities from the sky.
The aim is to prevent and detect criminal activities and manage disturbances more effectively, as the event traditionally attracts a large crowd and numerous vehicles, making it challenging for police to navigate through the area.
Additionally, fixed cameras will be installed at key locations to ensure comprehensive surveillance from 6 PM on Walpurgis Night until 6 AM the following day.
