An 80-year-old man in Umeå is on trial for possessing over 1,700 child pornography images, including particularly heinous material.
For decades, he secretly documented thousands of young girls, collecting names, addresses, and photos, some cut from school catalogs.
His notes included explicit descriptions of their bodies.
Despite the disturbing nature of his "collection," authorities deemed the documentation itself not illegal, returning it to him.
Victims, like Erica Jonsson, expressed shock and outrage, calling for the destruction of the material.
The man, known for frequenting local pools to observe children, has admitted to child pornography charges but denies the severity of the crime.
The case has sparked widespread anger and calls for stricter laws.
