Throughout various regions in Sweden, the Sweden Democrats have proposed serving meatballs and macaroni in schools daily to increase children’s food intake.

The idea was first trialed in Bollnäs but was not continued due to increased costs, workload, and food wastage.

In Eskilstuna, the party suggests a one-year trial in both elementary and high schools, despite the likelihood of rejection due to concerns over nutrition, costs, and environmental impacts.

Similar motions elsewhere have faced opposition, highlighting a split in opinion on the approach to enhancing school lunches.
