Anna Kinberg Batra, the county governor of Stockholm, is facing a deepening crisis over her hiring practices.

Criticisms have emerged after it was revealed that she recruited friends into high-ranking positions within the County Administrative Board without adhering to standard recruitment procedures.

One position was reportedly advertised only through a note in a reception area, a move that has attracted scrutiny and led to calls for her resignation.

The situation has sparked a series of investigations, including one by the Swedish Parliamentary Ombudsman (JO), and has been labeled a 'crisis of confidence' by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

Even as the investigations continue, there's growing demand from within her own party and the public for accountability and possibly her departure from office.
