A couple in their 30s from southern Sweden has gone missing in Sarek National Park, prompting a police search operation.
The couple, who were expected to return home last Sunday, have not been heard from since their departure.
Police initiated a search on Wednesday, utilizing a helicopter to scour the vast 2,000 square kilometer park.
However, the search was paused on Wednesday evening due to challenging terrain and poor visibility, with a reassessment planned for the following day.
The only clue available to the police is the couple's parked car, as the area lacks mobile coverage, complicating communication.
Local weather conditions, including heavy fog, have further hindered search efforts.
Authorities are continuously evaluating the situation to determine the best course of action moving forward.
