The implementation of the controversial Millennium medical records system in Västra Götaland, Sweden, has been paused following widespread criticism from healthcare professionals.
Overwhelming dissatisfaction was voiced by many, including senior physician Wojciech Skup, who publicly protested during the system's launch.
Skup's actions have been met with significant support from colleagues, who share his concerns about the system's impact on patient safety.
Despite the pause, regional director Håkan Sandahl maintains confidence in Millennium, stating that the system will be evaluated and potentially relaunched.
The decision to pause was made to prevent jeopardizing patient safety, acknowledging that the initial rollout was not successful.
