Cloetta has decided to destroy 850 tons of chocolate after discovering that the palm oil used in their products might contain cancer-causing substances.
The affected products include Kexchoklad, Sportlunch, and Polly.
The company took immediate safety measures before the contaminated chocolate reached the market.
Malmö's environmental authorities confirmed the decision after discussions with Cloetta.
Production continues with new, uncontaminated ingredients.
