In Ronneby, Centerpartiet has declined an offer to join a new municipal government led by Socialdemokraterna and Moderaterna, due to the inclusion of the controversial figure Roger Fredriksson (M) as vice chairman.
Fredriksson, who has faced scrutiny and calls for resignation following an investigation by SVT, managed to negotiate a position in the newly formed administration.
As a result, the municipal government will include two full-time paid vice chairmen, a decision that has sparked further criticism.
Kenneth Michaelsson, the group leader of Centerpartiet, stated the party's unanimous decision to reject participation in the government, citing concerns over Fredriksson's leadership role and the negative impact on Ronneby's reputation.
