The Left Party in Stockholm is urging the region to give Sweden's municipalities and regions the mandate to negotiate reduced working hours.
This comes amid an ongoing conflict between the Swedish Association of Health Professionals and Sweden's municipalities and regions, with 3,300 members striking.
The Left Party believes that the political mandate is crucial for resolving the dispute, emphasizing that Region Stockholm, as the largest member organization, should take the lead.
However, Robert Johansson, the regional councilor for personnel, maintains that the mandate for negotiation is already clear and that such matters should be resolved through established channels.
He noted ongoing local projects aimed at reducing work hours, despite economic challenges.
