A teenage boy from a British team is fighting for his life after a drowning incident at Nolhaga Parkbad in Alingsås during the Gothia Cup.
The boy, in his mid-teens, was found unconscious in the water and was airlifted to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where his condition has been reported as life-threatening.
His father, who has been by his side, is pleading for help from the British government to bring his son home for further treatment.
A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to raise funds for the transfer.
This tragic event echoes a similar incident from last year when another Gothia Cup player died at the same location.
The local authorities are providing support to the affected football team and staff as they cope with the shock of the incident.
