Amanda Lind Tapped for Green Party Leadership Role

Published: 2024-04-07

Amanda Lind, former Culture Minister and a prominent figure within the Green Party (Miljöpartiet), has been recommended as the new female spokesperson by the party's nomination committee.

Lind aims to strengthen the party and push forward a strong environmental agenda, emphasizing the current government's failure in climate policy.

She faces competition from Janine Alm Ericson, the economic policy spokesperson, and Annika Hirvonen, the party's group leader in parliament.

The final decision will be made at a digital extra party congress on April 28. Lind's nomination comes in the wake of Märta Stenevi's resignation due to health reasons, and she is widely supported within the party for her deep roots in the green movement and her extensive political experience.
