In a striking display of climate activism, the group Rebellmammorna wrapped the Swedish Parliament in a four-kilometer-long scarf to highlight the urgency of meeting the 1.5-degree warming limit.
This symbolic act coincided with Overshoot Day, marking when Sweden exceeds its share of the Earth's renewable resources.
Hundreds of mothers and grandmothers, forming part of the international Mothers Rebellion movement, knitted 2,667 red scarves to signify their concern for future generations and to protest Sweden's current climate policies.
The event, which saw speeches including one by activist Greta Thunberg, aims to push for stronger adherence to the Paris Agreement and to draw attention to the global warming crisis.
