Early on the morning of April 2nd, 2024, traffic on Nynäsvägen in Stockholm was brought to a halt when several activists climbed onto the road signs over highway 73 near Gubbängen.
The police were forced to close several lanes, resulting in significant delays and long queues stretching to Länna, about a mile away.
Initially, six individuals blocked the northbound traffic, leading to their arrest on charges of sabotage.
Shortly after, another three activists ascended a steel beam with traffic signs, causing a complete road closure.
All nine individuals were eventually taken into custody, suspected of sabotage or severe sabotage, after police intervention which included the use of drones for surveillance.
